2009 Washington DC Dragon Boat Festival: Dockside opening ceremony
The races begin around 9AM but are officially opened by a ceremony at noon on the first day. A dance troop from Taiwan performed before the master of ceremonies introduced a series of speakers. Then there was a ribbon cutting and an eye dotting ceremony.
